Chart announces Construction of the Largest Tank in its History

Decin, Czech Republic – June 8, 2005 – Chart Industries, Inc. (OTC: CIDI.OB) announced today that its European operation Ferox a.s. has completed construction on the largest shop constructed vacuum insulated tank in the world. The 530 cubic meter tank was constructed for Woikoski, a specialty gas producer and distributor in Finland.

This milestone comes only two years after Ferox completed three 500 cubic meter tanks for an LNG terminal in Norway. At the time, these were the largest tanks Ferox had ever built. In mid-2004, Woikoski requested the highest-volume tank Ferox could produce. Upon investigation into the logistics of shipping, Ferox designed, manufactured and successfully shipped the massive tank.

The thermal efficiency of the vacuum insulated design provided by Chart, is two to three times more efficient than traditional flat-bottom designs, therefore significantly reducing the amount of LNG lost due to unwanted heat entering the storage tank.

Technical parameters of the tank:
Gross volume: 530 cubic meters
Outer diameter: 5000 mm
Approximate length: 36000 mm
MAWP: 4 bar
Large Tank
