CHART FEROX TO DELIVER THE LARGEST SHOP-CONSTRUCTED VACUUM INSULATED TANKS IN THE WORLD
Garfield Heights, OH - September 22, 2005 - Chart Industries, Inc. (OTC: CIDI.OB) announces that its European Ferox operation has won a contract from Norway's Gasnor AS to supply five 683 cubic meter vacuum insulated tanks. These tanks will be used in a new liquid natural gas (LNG) satellite plant to be located at Elkem Aluminum in Mosjoen, Norway.

This order follows Gasnor's announcement in August that it had signed a ten-year contract with Elkem for the supply of LNG for a new anode plant being built by Alcoa and for the existing aluminum plant at Mosjoen. To date, the contract is the largest in Norway for the industrial supply of LNG.

The vacuum insulated tanks, to be built at Chart Ferox' plant in Decin, Czech Republic, will be the world's largest shop-built units; surpassing by twenty-five percent the tank that Chart delivered in June for an oxygen application in Finland. With these tanks measuring nearly 36 meters long, 5.6 meters in diameter and weighing 169,000 kilograms, transportation to the site in Norway presents a logistical challenge that Chart is uniquely qualified to meet.

This tank order precedes another potential order to Chart Ferox for other equipment needed for the satellite plant. When completed in March 2007, the plant will supply natural gas via automatically switched banks of ambient air vaporizers.

These orders further demonstrate the wide spectrum of Chart Ferox' cryogenic product offering as well as the position it has earned in the growing Scandinavian LNG market.

Chart Industries, Inc. is a leading global supplier of standard and custom engineered products and systems serving a wide variety of low temperature and cryogenic applications. Chart has domestic operations located in seven states and an international presence in Australia, China, the Czech Republic, Germany and the United Kingdom.
